چکیده
UNLABELLED Orbital pathology represents a unique entity because is located in a border region that requires neurosurgery, ophthalmology and oncology collaboration. The modern surgery includes the orbital surgery and skull base surgery. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study presents neurosurgical approaches in 17 cases of orbital pathology in a period of 4 years in the Neurosurgery Department of Emergency Hospital "Prof. Dr. N. Oblu" laşi. In most cases our team performed a fronto-temporal and pterional approach with orbital roof resection and tumor abl ation. In our study there were 10 women (58.8%) and only 7 men (41.1%). 16 patients presented with exophthalmia, head each (8 patients), diplopia (3 patients), amblyopia (4 patients), ptosis (1 patients), rinoreea (1 patients) and nerveVIl paresis (2 patients). RESULTS Postoperative there were remissions of exophthalmia and the other symptoms and there were not registered any complications. CONCLUSIONS However the technique and cranial approach can be evaluated on case-by-case situation and depends on the location and extension of the lesion. The goals were patient safety, symptoms remission and tumor removal.

The Intraoperative MRI is of great importance in the surgical removal of gliomas or cranial base tumors. However, the sole use of a intraoperative MRI is problematic, so that a dual system has been developed to optimize the utilization of the equipment, which can be used both for neurosurgical patients and for outpatient or stationary Patients. Within the framework of the new head Center at the...
متن کاملOrbital Metastasis from Rectal Adenocarcinoma- Report of a Rare Case
Colorectal carcinoma is a common malignancy in India as well as in world. Inspite of its high metastasizing ability to various organs and lymph node, orbital metastasis is exceptional. Very few cases have been reported in the world literature. We report orbital metastasis in a case of moderately differentiated rectal adenocarcinoma in a 58-year male patient from India in 2015. We want to focus ...
متن کاملA reappraisal of surgery for orbital tumors. Part I: extraorbital approaches.
Orbital lesions are variable in nature and location. Their management can be challenging, and surgical intervention is often needed. Although a significant percentage of these tumors are treated by the ophthalmologist alone, collaboration with a neurosurgeon is often required, especially for tumors that are located deep within the orbit, are large, or have an intracranial extension. Technical a...

Background and Objectives: We aimed at evaluating the efficacy of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNA) in comparison with histopathology and demonstrating whether cytological study could be a proper diagnostic tool in orbital mass lesions. Materials and Methods: In a cross sectional study during 36 months, patients referred to our ophthalmologic center affiliated to Tehran University of Medical...
